Goal: Cater to the needs of EVERY runner! We welcome our first timers, we welcome the weekend warriors, we welcome the best in the area and beyond. Everyone has a place in our race. Join us for an eventful run through our beautiful city and surrounding townships. The Medina Half Marathon & 5K will have feature quality SWAG of the larger races, but will have the small town feel that we hope makes you feel like more than a bib number.
Giving Back: Giving back is just one of the many features of the MCRR. Proceeds from our race, sponsors, and donors will be given back to our local area. In 2015 we were able to donate over $30,000 to local charities. To date we have donated over $70,000 in our first three years.
In 2016 we made donations to the following:
Tier 1 Charity Partners: Stand Up For Downs & Mary Grace Memorial Foundation
Tier 2 Donation Recipients: Keira Kilbane Foundation, Medina Sunshine Rotary, Medina Children’s Center, Run to Share, MCPAL, Run 2 Be Well. We also made a donation to the Medina Police & MCPAL.
* Contributions to our MCRR Scholarship program. This is a fund that gives back to local high school students who are headed to college. We help offset costs by providing scholarships to student-athletes who have participated in Cross Country and/or track in Medina County. We are thrilled to support a new and local charity. Stand Up For Downs raises money for various charities and organizations that strive to benefit and enhance the lives of those with Down syndrome and their communities. Included in their generosity is the Special Olympics! Learn more by visiting their website. Be sure to like them on FACEBOOK!
Be sure to stop by the after party hosted by SUFD on race day! Free beer and pizza provided to all runners! Guest are welcome to purchase drinks to support SUFD.
